Being in private practice by myself means that I can offer exceptional care to my clients. I pride myself on being responsive and timely when questions or concerns come up. I value having the time and energy to develop thoughtful, high-quality treatment plans to
my clients.
While I have years of experience and training in DBT, I do not run a comprehensive program at my practice. I do, however, provide “DBT informed therapy,” which means I use the principles and skills in my sessions with clients who can benefit from it. Please refer to the “Dialectical Behavior Therapy” section of my website for more information.
I value collaborating with parents to understand the history of the teen’s problems as well as involving them in the treatment where necessary. This may look like scheduling family sessions or providing updates on progress, as well as safety planning. If I am providing DBT-informed therapy to a teen, I will likely recommend a route for you to learn the same skills that the teen is learning.
Both! I see clients in-person in my office in King of Prussia, PA, on Tuesdays. I offer virtual therapy on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
No. As a psychologist, I specialize in providing evidence-based psychotherapy for certain disorders. However, if I feel that medication could be a helpful addition to our work, I can recommend psychiatrists to consult with that can prescribe medication.
The first session is an intake session. This is where I gather a comprehensive understanding of your current symptoms and difficulties. I will also gather your social, emotional, and biological history.
The few sessions after the intake session are devoted to developing our therapeutic relationship, providing feedback, and treatment planning. It is important that we develop safety, trust, and a solid working relationship. We also need to work on agreement of the problems, what is maintaining them, and a treatment plan. Collaboration is critical in this
stage.
Most commonly, sessions are weekly to start with. Weekly sessions ensure that we have time to build our relationship and meet often enough to practice skills that will help you feel better. Biweekly and monthly sessions are reserved for individuals who have seen improvements in their mental health over time and need less therapeutic
intervention to stay well. Commitment to regular sessions is important for recovery.
When we plan treatment together, I will give you a rough range of how long I expect treatment to last. It is difficult to fully predict, however; some individuals get better in a few months, and some may take a year or longer to feel better.
I am currently in-network with most Aetna, Highmark (including blue cross/blue shield), and Quest Behavioral plans. I am out-of-network for all other insurance plans, which means you are responsible for my full-fee at the time of service. If you ay out of pocket for treatment, I will provide you with the documentation necessary to submit to your
insurance plan for possible reimbursement.
I accept most major credit cards, Venmo, and HSA cards.
When we schedule an appointment, that is time I reserve out of my schedule for you. That is time that could otherwise go to another client; I therefore ask that you provide me with more than 24 notice if you need to cancel an appointment, or else you will be responsible for a cancellation fee.
