Anxiety is a normal emotion that all of us experience. If you are reading this, however, the emotion feels overwhelming and persistent. You may experience urges to isolate and withdraw and avoid things that would enhance your life. Or, you may fall into the trap of trying to predict and control the future to the extent that living in the present becomes nearly impossible. Maybe you have developed persistent, repetitive behaviors that are driven by anxiety….but when you engage in them, you just end up feeling worse.

YES, you! You have the capacity to experience these things. However, chronic anxiety is habitual. When you are in the thick of it, it feels like you ARE anxiety. You inhabit it. You identify with it. You start doing things to reinforce it.
You need to learn how to interrupt the cycle of engaging in behaviors that make anxiety bigger. You will never get rid of anxiety, but you can learn how to accept it and redirect your focus onto other things that matter.
Letting go of patterns that make anxiety worse is the first step. Learning to live alongisde anxiety is the second. Anxiety disorder and OCD treatment involves a mix of all three treatment strategies. I will collaborate with you to figure out what your specific needs are and tailor a program that is unique to you.

(CBT) is another broad approach that can be helpful for a variety of anxiety disorders. It encompasses first, developing an awareness of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and how they are all connected. Then, you will learn strategies to restructure your thoughts to be more realistic and helpful, as well as how to change behavior that is getting in the way of your recovery.
is a tool that is fundamental to psychological health. It is especially helpful for treating generalized worry. With mindfulness, you learn to change your relationship to your thoughts so that they no longer have a stronghold on you.
